Antagonist The antagonists of the story are the Jackboots because they are the bad guys trying to kill Misha Setting Milkweed takes place in 1938. In the exposition it takes place in the barber shop. The setting of the rising action is the Warsaw ghetto. Point of View The point of view of Milkweed is first person. Tone and Mood The mood is happy and relaxed in the beginning at the barber shop. It changes to being depressing and dangerous when they are in the ghetto. The tone in Milkweed is danger when they are in the ghetto. External Conflict The external conflict in Milkweed would be Misha struggling to survive in the Warsaw ghetto and escaping from the Jackboots. Internal Conflict The internal conflict would be Misha not being able to remember his past. Imagery An example of imagery in Milkweed would be when Misha describes the merry-go-round and all of the decorative horses on it. Climax The climax of the story was when everyone in the ghetto was going on the train to the concentration camp and Janina left on the train. This is the climax because Misha thought differently about Janina after she went on the train and he never saw her again Falling Action/Resolution The falling action was Misha traveling around looking for work after Janina left. The resolution was when it fast-forwards to Misha as an adult and he has a family and names his granddaughter after Janina.
